Summer Concerts

In the summer of 1997, the Foundation’s gardens in Lisbon were opened up to the public for the very first time to host open air concerts. Each subsequent year has seen ever growing audiences turn out to hear artists such as the Metálica Quintet, Fidélio Quintet, Mistral Quintet, the Musicare Chamber Orchestra, the Baroque Ensemble of Chiado, The Flat Consort, the Ricercare Choir, the Eutherpe Quartet, Kumho Asiana String Quartet and the pianist Adriano Jordão, the Porto Clarinet Quartet, Naxi Ancient Music Group, the Coimbra Fado Quintet, the Moscow Piano Quartet and the Formação Camerata Youth Symphony Orchestra. Whether performing solo or in duet, other musicians have filled the foundation gardens with their fine sounds: the harp of Stephanie Manzo, the harpsichord of Ana Mafalda de Castro, violoncello and piano by Yoohong Lee and Katya Apekisheva, the marimba by Pedro Carneiro, piano and violin by Shao Xiao Ling and Valentim Stefanov, the piano of Kiki Kashiwagi, the flamenco guitar of Yutaro Nagao, the piano of Manuela Gouveia, sitar from Shubhendra Rao and the voice of Isabel Alcobia.
