The majority of the documents available for consultation may be freely accessed. Some types of documents, especially historical books, multimedia materials or periodical publications may need to be requested at the reception desk.
INFORMATION AND REFERENCE SERVICES
This user support service provides information and documentation as well as guidelines on effectively making recourse to information sources and resources. This may be accessed in person, by telephone or by email.
CONSULTING THE BIBLIOGRAPHIC CATALOGUE AND OTHER DATABASES
Users may consult the Documentation Centre bibliographic catalogue, as well as other databases belonging to other partner national and international institutions via the Internet.
Document research processes may be carried out on user request under the operational terms hereby contained in these regulations.
Users may make copies of documents either on paper or in a digital format.
PROMOTING DOCUMENT RELATED RESEARCH FINDINGS AND NEWS AND READING SUGGESTIONS
Document related research findings and news are available at the Documentation Centre alongside reading suggestions related to the Far East and the Portuguese presence in Asia. This information, always provided on this site, is also sent out in newsletter format subject to prior registration either in person or by emailing email@example.com
SELECTIVE PROVISION OF INFORMATION
In accordance with the research profile related to the Far East and the Portuguese presence in Asia, the Centre provides an email updating service on new documents received and corresponding to pre-defined individual profiles.
